When McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I suspended my judgement until the national media had picked her over and come to some national consensus. My immediate reaction was, of course, WTF (as was that of most of my liberal friends), but I know that McCain’s advisers are smart people and they surely saw something in Palin that wasn’t immediately obvious to the rest of us.
So I waited for the other shoe to drop. I waited to hear that she used to be Ambassador to Norway, or was the silent architect of the RNC platform on global warfare, or even that she was a former navy fighter pilot. None of this came to bear. She is, instead, a beauty queen.
Then I found this little nugget of hate on youtube.com. It is audio of Sarah Palin’s interview on Alaskan radio in which she laughs at the disc jockeys referring to a state senator as a “cancer” (this woman is a cancer survivor) and a “bitch”. Instead of rejecting either moniker, the Governor laughs out loud and suggests that she would be honored to have these bozos at the Governor’s State of the State address.
One of two things is true: she either agrees with the men (which makes her a completely inappropriate choice for the mantle of the Vice-Presidency) or she disagrees with the men but laughs it off anyway (which makers her a completely inappropriate choice for the mantle of the Vice-Presidency).
After all, would Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Sen. Olympia Snowe, or WH Press Secretary Dana Parino laugh like the Governor did? This isn’t a liberal or conservative issue – it’s a gender issue. Although, in fairness, I don’t think Dana Parino laughs at anything.

I find her laugh disgusting. Even if she dislikes the state senator for whatever reason, she should not have laughed at their comments. Afterall, the woman is a cancer survivor. The smartest this for her to do would have been to say
I have no comment. By laughing, she shows what she is really like. I want no part of her. And, I won’t be voting for the McCain/Palin ticket. At first, I was willing to give her a chance, but now the more I learn about her, the more I do not like.

Sarah Palin is a pro-NRA gun fanatic who likes to kill things with guns, and call it a “sport.” (Well, with any luck, she has a better aim than Dick Cheney.)
She is vehemently anti-gay.
She denies global warming.
(Well, maybe that makes sense in Alaska.)
My question: How can she call herself Christian?
I thought Christian meant that you follow the teachings of Christ. No?!
Killing things for “sport” when the commandment is Thou Shalt Not Kill
Hating two people because they love each other when the commandment is
to love one another!
Putting corporate profits above protecting the planet when the commandment
is that we be stewards of the earth
Being pro-war, when the commandment is to
hammer your swords into plowshares
Look, if you’re a biased, intolerant war-dog who likes to shoot things,
FINE, but don’t go around telling people that Jesus is your hero.
